Cloud ComputingIn recent days, computing is transformed by a new model called "cloud". "Cloud" generally represents a network where it has been named by the symbol used for marking the internet.
In Cloud Computing models, the data and computations are operated somewhere in the cloud. This cloud is some collection of data centers generally owned by a third-party.
In General, cloud providers, fall into three categories.
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): offering web-based access to storage and computing power. The consumer does not need to manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure but has control over the operating systems, storage, and deployed applications. [Example: APPRIO (http://www.appirio.com/)]
- Platform as a Service (PaaS): giving developers the tools to build and host web applications. [Example: FORCE (http://www.salesforce.com/platform/)]
- Software as a Service (SaaS): applications that are accessible from various client devices through a thin client interface such as a web browser.[Example: AMAZON(http://aws.amazon.com/)]
