Introduction

Enterprise risk management is a process, effected by an entity’s board of directors, management and other personnel, applied in strategy setting and across the enterprise, designed to identify potential events that may affect the entity, and manage risk to be within its risk appetite, to provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of entity objectives.
ERM is the management of business risk at a strategic level. It puts information into the hands of senior management and the board of directors so they can focus on the issues most likely to impair an organization’s ability to achieve its strategic objectives. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Assessment is a methodology designed to help the client assess its current state risk inventory and risk management process, and develop a gap analysis to help the client understand current ERM practices and determine future positioning, prioritize improvement opportunities, and develop a high level implementation roadmap.

Enterprise risk management is:

• A process, ongoing and flowing through an entity
• Effected by people at every level of an organization
• Applied in strategy setting
• Applied across the enterprise, at every level and unit, and includes taking an entitylevel portfolio view of risk
• Designed to identify potential events that, if they occur, will affect the entity and to manage risk within its risk appetite
• Able to provide reasonable assurance to an entity’s management and board of directors
• Geared to achievement of objectives in one or more separate but overlapping Categories

Cloud Computing

In recent days, computing is transformed by a new model called "cloud".  "Cloud" generally represents a network where it has been named by the symbol used for marking the internet.

In Cloud Computing models, the data and computations are operated somewhere in the cloud. This cloud is some collection of data centers generally owned by a third-party.

In General, cloud providers, fall into three categories.

  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS): offering web-based access to storage and computing power. The consumer does not need to manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure but has control over the operating systems, storage, and deployed applications. [Example: APPRIO (http://www.appirio.com/)]
  • Platform as a Service (PaaS): giving developers the tools to build and host web applications. [Example: FORCE (http://www.salesforce.com/platform/)]
  • Software as a Service (SaaS): applications that are accessible from various client devices through a thin client interface such as a web browser.[Example: AMAZON(http://aws.amazon.com/)]
